How to Fly

HOW TO FLY
by Yoko Ono, 1971

1) Make sure that your mind is not clogged with
heavy burdens such as: resentment, anger, secrets
and the past. They can be heavy.

2) Make sure that your body is not clogged with
excess fat and excrements.

3) Make sure that your wings are light and free.
This is the most difficult proposition. Your
wings cannot be free unless the whole world is
free, because you are part of the world. However,
there is a way for the whole world to be free.
Just like your body, all it needs is to be
unclogged and have good circulation. Circulation
is the secret to freedom and the key to fly.

5) When the whole world is in good circulation
we will all fly together.

6) Meanwhile, give wings to things around you
so they will circulate.

There’s no ownership in beauty.

Hey Hey Mr. Postman drops

February 5, 2010 - Leave a Response

Hey all!

I know it’s been a while, but we at Frontstreet have been working hard. ( I might have failed to mention that I singed to a label at the beginning of this year.)
The people there are great, and fast becoming some of my best friends. We got a lot of stuff in the works, so keep in tune. We post a new track to itunes every week. This week Mr. Postman dropped. I thank all the other blogs that posted the track:

Silent Night, Silent Steps, Silent Giants

December 2, 2009 - Leave a Response

Couple updates, and a few shout outs.
Silent Giants are killing it. I’m so proud of them:) Check out the backdrop they did for The Dead Weather http://www.brooklynvegan.com/img/music/mtvu/2009/158.jpg
Their designs are gonna take over the musical world.

IN other melodic news, I want to thank my new family at Frontstreet Records for welcoming me so warmly. I’ve never wanted to be around a crew of artists more then these guys. They are rocking my world right now and I am just oh so appreciative. Shout out too Oseeola, and Dux for being extensions of my brain and filling in the holes, Thirty for being on the pulse and creating the beat, Jab for making me laugh, and Dave for keeping it all together. These guys are the best around.

There’s a couple projects in the works. We’re recording, writing, experimenting, and creating, but we should be turning something out sooner then later. Check out all their music on Itunes. Great things are coming in the New Year. That’s all for now. Short and to the point.

I leave you with a photo of Ed Knight (<3), Chris Everhart (of The Silent Giants) with my Big Bro Oseeola.

Backyards & Sticks

So I’m fighting through what I’m convinced is early signs of carpal tunnel to bring you this new song. I keep saying it, and no one seems to believe me, but sometimes my hands just don’t listen. They lock up. At any rate, sometimes it works out… and I really like this song, so I’m glad my motor functions responded reasonably well last night. Hope you enjoy it:)

Oh My Gemini

September 5, 2009 - Leave a Response

I was making you a video. Watch my face sing. Watch the way my neck strains when I try to hit the high notes. Watch the way I laugh at myself when my guitar falls awkwardly out of tune. Watch my face sing. I thought I’d try to save it as a quicktime file because I had never done that before. It made my video into a movie with no video. There are so many things I do not understand. Then, iMovie would no longer play the video of my face singing, and try as I might, my work wasn’t working. Nevertheless, I have audio, in tact with fuzz and a facebook chat interruption. Who was trying to chat with me yesterday? Whoever it was, I’m sorry I closed you without saying hi. Also, I kept it in wav. form, so if anyone is so inclined, you have my permission to import it and distort it.

People often ask me if I have recordings and such. No, I do not. Do I plan on having some? Yes, but I am in no hurry, and the time has not yet presented itself. I do appreciate you asking though. To meet you in the middle, here is some fuzzy audio entitled OH My Gemini, and an answer to the age old question: if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to see it, it does indeed make a sound.Borofsky Male / Female

Living My Lullabies

August 18, 2009 - One Response

This is first of it’s kind:) These are not my words… but they inspired a beautiful song.

short bursts of cold air
raising the hair on my neck
cool breeze so lonely
to some, this is just the wind
but to me, its a kiss goodbye
sometimes I think I’m living my lullabies

i see the sun rise
i see the sun set
without speaking a word
without seeing a face
and the phone just rings
and the phone just rings
and the ring is so emotionless

a dark empty house
the mirror is my company
i hear a robot
telling me you’re unavailable
and a tear rolls down my cheek
i can only say one thing

well, to me it’s a kiss goodbye
sometimes I think I’m living my lullabies
I love you, please come home

Enough is never having it. Good is measured in how this song makes me feel, thus, I deem this track good enough to share. Thank you Ed for the wonderful artwork… check out more of their stuff by clicking the photo…

So, I’ve just learned about this band, Nurses, and I’m still loving the stuff that’s coming out of the North West. I’m positive it’s a product of all the rain…. and the forests… and I want to be there too. Until then, I’ll just marvel from afar and listen to the sounds of solitude and simple pleasures… a misty morning and rain in the horizon… Yup. Perfect.
